Advisers know that their clients / our members are likely committed to maintaining good health. They recognise that good health is a foundation which enables us to engage in and enjoy many of the important things in our lives.
At nib, we know that the environment and climate play a big part in maintaining good health. The work we’ve done indicates that a continuation of the climate changes already occurring could result in members experiencing reduced quality of life, more serious illnesses, or reduced life expectancy. That’s why we have a climate strategy and why we are committed to playing our part, no matter how small, in limiting our footprint and transitioning to net zero. In the words of Mark Fitzgibbon, Managing Director & CEO of nib Group:
“Our purpose is the better health and wellbeing of our people, families and communities. We know that the state of the climate has a direct impact on health; clean air, temperate climates and fresh water all affect how we feel, how well we are, how we go about our work and lives.”
nib is proud to share its 2023 Sustainability Report and Climate Related Disclosure with you. It’s our second Climate Related Disclosure and together the documents show how we’re tracking. They provide a snapshot of our progress against our sustainability goals as well as providing a transparent view of our commitment to environmental responsibility. You’ll find the Report here and the Disclosure here .
We firmly believe that managing our impact on the environment is the right thing to do; it underlies our longevity and drive to deliver better health outcomes. We are as ambitious as ever in fulfilling our purpose as a company, and aware that without sustainable communities and ecosystems, we won’t be as successful as we plan.
